Briefly about me and my Study
Name: T. Chandra Sekhar
I am a student pursuing undergraduate degree course, majoring in Information Systems, from Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani, Goa campus, Goa - India. I am currently into my sixth semester and will be graduating in June 2011. I am very much interested in programming for which I spend most of my time and also on doing projects in areas of desktop application development, web application development, operating systems, networking, grid computing. I have been a free and open source software enthusiast. Major work in open source software was on ‘R’ Language to simulate a spectral analysis study, data treatment, information extraction and present the analysis of the samples given for the study.
My interests
I am very much interested in working on operating systems, networking , grid computing ,desktop application development, web application development, Following are major projects I worked on.
My non-Smalltalk experiences so far
Projects:
1) Congestion control in computer networks.
Congestion control and various traffic control algorithms.
2) Image Color abstraction using Neural Networks trained through Back Propagation.
Designing and realizing a neural network which can abstract colors from satellite images.
3) Exploring the usability of 'R' language in spectral analysis, data analysis, data treatment and information extraction and study of the utility of the MVI toolbox
4) Real time systems (current)
Power efficient scheduling algorithm and also file systems in RTLINUX, QNX, and eCos real time operating systems.
I also worked on some other projects like HTML browser development in java (current), Design project on voice signal digitization and reproduction with certain modification by the microprocessor, multi client chat system and voice chat in java, mini implementation of checkers game in java, small banking software in java, sound recording and playback system using internal speaker of computer to playback sound in C, designing a voice signal digitization and reproduction with certain modification by the microprocessor and Hand clap electronic control system.
My Smalltalk experiences so far
I started working on smalltalk.
Why am I interested in Smalltalk?
I am very much interested in working on this project because I like very much working in the parallel computing field. I worked on some project related to operating systems to implement some optimized algorithms on multi core architectures involving parallel computing.
Will I stay with Smalltalk after the project is finished?
Yes I like to work with smalltalk and contribute and I express my deep commitment to the project.
