Briefly about me
19 from Schererville, Indiana.
About my study
I am a first-year undergraduate at Purdue University West Lafayette, majoring in biology and computer science.
Mechanisms of gene expression. Developing a language-based operating system.
My non-Smalltalk experiences so far
6(7?) year veteran of Java. I also know C, C#, C++, Visual Basic, and SML in roughly decreasing order of proficiency.
My Smalltalk experiences so far
Wrote some games/simulations and an algebra-parser/derivative-calculator in Visual Works. Familiarity with Squeak mostly through its use in the Newspeak prototype. Minor vm hacking.
Why am I interested in Smalltalk?
It's an elegant language that intrudes very little on your domain problem. Newspeak takes it even further.
Will I stay with Smalltalk after the project is finished?
Of course =)
